Our concept was created to be mindful of your budget and save planning time with a virtual consultation and easy ordering process designed to give you a clear solution in determining the total cost and design details of your wedding florals.
How Can Your Prices be So Low?
Floressence has always offered comparatively low prices for our wedding designs and services We became a virtual wedding florist in 2008 and are the first wedding florist in Chicagoland to operate under this business model.
By working in a non-traditional space instead of a traditional retail storefront, we keep our operational overhead at the absolute lowest level to pass the savings and beauty on to our clients. Through the use of E-Commerce, social media, blogging, YouTube and Skype we create a strong web presence that makes us an ideal match for today’s urban, tech-savvy and forward-thinking Bride.
What’s this “Virtual Consultation” thing all about?
For the modern, tech-savvy Bride we offer consultations via telephone, email and Skype.
For Brides seeking a face to face experience; Floressence will hold your wedding floral consultation in one of Chicago’s top flower markets.
The markets are open to professional florists only so this is truly a one of a kind experience. Our flower market consultation was designed to empower Brides by demystifying the myths associated with choosing wedding flowers and to make the process of selecting your wedding flowers interactive, unusual and above all fun!
How does the process work?
With Floressence, select and order your wedding florals in just a few easy steps:
1. View our "Services" and "Portfolio" page to view Silver, Gold and Platinum descriptions and options
2. Contact us to complete the virtual consultation process
3. You will receive a formal proposal based on your virtual consultation (via email) within 24 hours of your virtual consultation
4. Confirm, review and approve your proposal (as well as make any additions or corrections and send it back to us)
5. Once you approve your final contract, sign using our E-contract process and pay your deposit
PLEASE NOTE: In order to maintain the integrity of our work and give the best customer service available, we are only able to design for a limited amount of weddings per weekend, especially during the prime wedding season of April-October.
We need at least 30 days advance notice to secure the design and delivery date for your wedding flowers. If you wait until the last moment to order, you may find that your wedding day is fully booked...
I Don’t Live in the Chicagoland Area. Do you Ship to Other States?
In order to maintain the integrity of our work, we do not ship flowers out of state. We want to provide a personal, professional florist’s touch for our clients for and feel that delivery or pick-up options is the best way to provide that extra special touch.
How far in advance can I order my flowers?
It is never too early to place your order! We’ve had Brides book us as far is our as 18 months before their wedding date!
Do I need to arrange the flower bouquets myself?
Nope. Everything is delivered to you completely designed and ready to wear or carry. You can also arrange to pick up the flowers from our studio.
I want my flowers to look different from the pictures on the website. Is that possible?
YES! Your flowers are 100% customizable just as they would be with any traditional wedding florist. Choose your flowers based on your personal style, your colors and the look and feel you want your wedding flowers to capture on your special day. If you aren’t sure what to do our design team will be happy to make some recommendations for you!
I'd like my Bridal Bouquet to be a different color from my Bridesmaids Bouquets. Can I do that?
Absolutely! Your bouquet selections can be completely customized. Plus our Silver, Gold and Platinum Styles give you total control. Have your heart set on a bouquet of orchids? Choose a Platinum bouquet for yourself, and choose coordinating seasonal flowers at a Silver level to stretch your floral budget…
You can also change the color and style of the Groom's boutonniere to differentiate it from the rest of the boutonnieres.
I also need centerpieces and maybe decorations for the ceremony.
We have centerpiece options at the Gold Silver and Platinum level as well as part of our Prix Fixe collections. Floressence is a full-service wedding floral design and décor company. We are happy to accommodate whatever you need to complete your vision for your wedding day.
Where do you deliver?
Currently we deliver our wedding flowers only in the Chicagoland area (city and suburbs). You can also make arrangements to pick your flowers up from our office and studio located on the far northwest side of Chicago.
What is your delivery cost?
Delivery costs can vary depending on the delivery location. They are typically $25 to $75 (and up) with the average delivery cost being about $45. You can also arrange to pick up the flowers yourself from our office and studio.
Do you charge Sales Tax?
Yes, as our business is located in the city of Chicago, a sales tax of 10.25% will be applied to your final order. There is no tax on delivery or tear-down (if applicable).
How can I pay for my flowers?
Floressence accepts payments via cash, check, major credit card and PayPal.
Is a deposit required?
We do charge a $200 deposit. The deposit is like a reservation; it reserves your flowers for you since they are ordered due to your order specifications. Your deposit also locks in your price. Flowers are a perishable item and their prices can change depending on the season. The price of our a la carte offerings may also fluctuate slightly from season to season due to this. We will go above and beyond to ensure that you receive the best pricing possible. .
When is my final balance due?
Final balance payments are due 14 days before your delivery date.
We do not accept final payments on the day of or day after the wedding.
If payment is not received in full by this deadline, we will be unable to deliver your flowers.
Sadly, a few unscrupulous Brides totally ruined the honor system for everyone else...
How do I know you have not lost my order?
We know that you have a lot on your mind as the big day approaches. To let you know that things are moving smoothly with your wedding flowers, we will stay in touch with you via emails at regular intervals. If you have questions, you can also call our office at 312.462.4212 or the business owner on her cell phone (which you will have if you are a client!)
Can I cancel my order? What happens to my deposit if I cancel?
Yes, you can cancel your order up to 14 days prior to your delivery date. All cancellations must be made in writing and sent via email to info_floressencechicago.com. Monies paid towards your final balance will be refunded in full. However, you will lose your $200 initial deposit.
Can I change my order?
Yes, you can change your order up to 7 days before your delivery date. All changes must be made in writing and sent via email to info_floressencechicago.com
Changes you'd like to make must be within reason such as an additional bouquet, corsage, fewer centerpieces, etc. Dramatic changes to the style, color, and floral varieties will be considered on a case by case basis and may not be approved by Floressence.
How are the flowers delivered?
We will deliver your flowers in water. We use sturdy cardboard packaging and tissue paper (to protect the blooms) in order to ensure that your flowers will be simple for you to transport on your own. Each floral piece is also labeled as to who the piece is for and any special instructions will also be given if applicable.
Can the flowers be delivered to my hotel room or ceremony site?
Yes. We will deliver the flowers wherever it is most convenient for you. Please keep in mind that someone will need to be present to receive the flowers.
